Looks like we'll all be visiting Spain next summer: Norwegian Air says it will launch low-cost, non-stop service to Barcelona from New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Fort Lauderdale, with fares starting at just $189 one-way. Flights are often double that price, costing on average a little over $400, but since it launched service to and from the U.S. three years ago, Norwegian has distinguished itself for its low fares and a la carte pricing. After its Irish-based Norwegian Air International received approval to fly transatlantic routes in April, the airline furthered its reach. The flights from four U.S. cities will launch in June 2017, though you can book tickets now for $189 from the East Coast and $199 from the West Coast for travel in the late spring. Try to plan for late June and early July, when temperatures haven't reached their peak and you can make it in time for the San Juan festival, where locals burn enormous bonfires and set off fireworks.

Expect a few extra fees on top of that absurdly affordable one-way. As a low-cost airline, Norwegian charges for its slightly complicated baggage policy, as well as for seat reservations and meals on board. Choose the LowFare+ option if you want to pay for these services up front ($61 each way).

To book: Finding this fare is easy. Just go to the Norwegian website and select a travel date after June 5, 2017 to find these prices. Fares from Fort Lauderdale and New York City (Newark) start at $189, while fares from Los Angeles and San Francisco (Oakland) are from $199.
