The Best Views of Bangkok Are at the World's Highest Outdoor Whiskey Bar

Sometimes, the best way to get a feel for the bustle of a city is to see it from above. If you find yourself in Bangkok and want to peer down on the city below, make a nighttime pit stop at Alfresco 64, located 64 stories up, for all of your viewing (and drinking) needs. An acrophobic's worst nightmare comes compliments of the five-star Tower Club at Lebua—which might look familiar to those who have seen The Hangover Part II—with the bar specializing in whiskey-based drinks and cocktails.

"I wanted to go away from the traditional dark leather sofas, wood panelling and dim light. We created something beautiful and festive. It's half indoors and half outdoors, and designed to resemble the cabin and prow of a luxury yacht," Deepak Ohri, the CEO of Lebua Hotels & Resorts, explained to Forbes about the inspiration behind the bar, which even features a "captain's seat" for a full maritime theme. "It's the only place you can steer a yacht while enjoying your drinks." (Don't drink and captain a vessel, folks.)

You'll have to be a whiskey fan (exclusive, expensive whiskey, more specifically) to visit Alfresco 64, though the hotel has other rooftop bars if you shy away from rye. Chivas Regal Exclusive “Lebua Blend” is what inspired Ohri to pursue the bar project to begin with, and now, only 96 bottles of that whiskey are available for purchase. Perhaps unsurprisingly, they can be bought and consumed only at Alfresco 64, and go for a very cool $7,000 per bottle.

Don't want to drop thousands of dollars on a bottle? Just go and enjoy the sweeping skyline views with a glass of decently priced whiskey instead.
