We love Ace for its buzzy, design-minded hotels. One of our favorites? The Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles, which won a spot on our 2017 Readers' Choice Awards, as well as a place on our best hotels in L.A. list. Next year, keep an eye out for the addition of the Ace Hotel Kyoto, which is scheduled to open late 2019—hopefully, the fruit salad days sale will reprise for the debut. The property will be designed by Kengo Kuma—the architect behind the Opposite House in Beijing and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Stadium—and close to Nijō Castle.
