We're kicking off the Memorial Day weekend celebrations with an amazing flight deal to Hong Kong, thanks to Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Airlines, which are flying passengers from several U.S. cities to Hong Kong starting at $388 round-trip (from Los Angeles and Seattle). That's less than half of what they normally cost. Travel is valid from August through December 2018—Thanksgiving included—according to Scott's Cheap Flights, who found the deal. Scott predicts the low fares will be gone within 24 hours, so if you're interested, get booking.

If you need help building your itinerary, you're in luck—we've got an entire city guide dedicated to Hong Kong. There's a definitive list of where you should order dim sum (Cantonese small plates), from the local favorite Sun Hing—a self-serve, communal joint with no menu, just steaming baskets of food—to Spring Moon, where siu mai with Sicilian prawns is a highlight. Looking for the best places to shop, essential activities, and an etiquette guide? We've got you covered.

As for your hotel, the city has an impressive roster of big names: The Peninsula Hong Kong, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, and Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong, which are all worthy of an extended stay. If you're looking for something smaller and more unique, try for a reservation at The Luxe Manor. With whimsical rooms reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland—brightly colored drapes, empty picture frames artfully arranged on the walls, eclectic furniture—and a bar outfitted with avant-garde artwork, it's definitely worth a visit.

How to book: We've found that flights are running from these mainland cities: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, and Vegas. To find the cheapest available dates, search in Google Flights and use the calendar tool: the cheapest flights have stopovers, but make sure to select "one stop or fewer" before you look. The lowest fares will be highlighted in green.
