We're just about 365 days away from the next Olympics, when teen phenom snowboarders like Chloe Kim will make us wish we had paid more attention to the slopes as a kid. Pyeongchang, South Korea will play host to the quadrennial event in 2018, and winter sports fans will soon have their first chance to get their hands on tickets: An online lottery, for everything from opening ceremony seats to access to curling matches, will launch online February 9 and run through April 23.
The initial raffle is only open to those logging in from South Korea, according to Yonhap News. American and overseas sports enthusiasts will have to go through authorized ticket resellers, who will also be announced within days of the raffle's launch. Tickets for individual events start at $17 (about 20,000 South Korean won), but the most coveted seats at the opening ceremony will be as expensive as 1,500,000 won, or around $1,300.

Online ticket sales direct from the Olympic Committee's site will begin in early September, though actually snagging them may be hard to come by. Because the games fall over 2018's Lunar New Year, which starts February 16, midway through the Games, organizers are expecting at least 70 percent of ticket sales to come from nearby Asian countries, where there's a mass vacation exodus during the holiday. Plus, getting from the South Korean capital of Seoul, host to the 1988 Summer Olympics, to Pyeongchang is getting much easier: A new high-speed railway is cutting travel time in half between the two cities and will begin testing this summer.
