The latest attraction out of San Francisco makes all other summer events seem, well, dull in comparison. The Color Factory, "a 12,000 square foot, pop-up color experience," opens Monday, August 1 to celebrate the full spectrum of hues, shades, and Instagrammable backdrops.

The colorful exhibition is the brainchild of Oh Happy Day, artist Leah Rosenberg, and designer Erin Jang, and its 15 original works of art will be housed in two-story space, complete with a vivid, striped facade.

Those who head over the rainbow and into the Color Factory can take a dip in the enormous yellow 207,000-ball pit (reminiscent of the now-famous pool of sprinkles at the Museum of Ice Cream) and explore a confetti-filled room that feels like being inside a rainbow snow globe, a display of 10,000 colorful ribbons suspended from the ceiling, a holographic prism room, and a glass-walled balloon room. Also available to visitors: an all-yellow gift shop and sunny-colored soft serve from Garden Creamery, so don't forget your favorite pair of summer shades to shield your eyes from brightness overload.

The Color Factory has even devised a way to ensure that you capture the perfect Instagram, no filter necessary. Upon entry, guests can register for a card that comes a special barcode, which can be scanned at six photo booth stations throughout the exhibition. All images will be automatically emailed to the cardholder.

But the technicolor experience isn't confined to the exhibition space. The bright, bold fun spills out into the city itself, as guests can opt to follow along with the Color Factory's map of 17 specially commissioned color experiences located around San Fran. Map hot spots include seeking out a pink drink from Boba Guys, getting inked with a custom temporary tattoo from the Moth and Dagger tattoo parlor, and scouting out secret wall murals.

The Color Factory, at 575 Sutter St., will be on view for the entire month of August. It's open daily, except Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $32 and can be purchased at www.colorfactory.co. Snag a sneak peek at all the colorful splendor, below:
