Norwegian Air Now Lets You Book Flights Based on Temperature

Hello, Canary Islands.

Just in time for summer vacation, Norwegian Air has launched a brilliant travel hack—a map that allows you to plan your trips around the weather. Yes, really. The interactive tool lets would-be fliers choose from more than 40 of Norwegian's destinations—Dubai, Stockholm, Newark, and Singapore are all in the mix—and, with a few simple clicks, find the best time to go based on the forecast. All you have to do is figure out if you're gunning for a warm beach or uh, skiing. There are options for both.

The map has several filters, most of them typical—think origin airport, and month of travel. You can also select the type of destination you want (pick all, or specify city, beach, ski, etc.) and of course, filter by temperature, which has a sliding scale from -15 degrees Celsius (five degrees Fahrenheit) to 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit). And you have the option to input a budget, which ranges from 20 to infinity. Other than that, the tool is pretty similar to the experience you'd get on Google Flights, with a calendar tool displaying the lowest available fares, which you can use to book departures and returns. There is a "no-return" option you can check, if you want a one-way flight: Considering the terrible weather we've been having, a permanent vacation to Italy sounds pretty nice.

Need some trip inspiration? We just released a guide of places to go this summer, ranging from Denver, Colorado to Iceland—yes, including the Blue Lagoon—and Norwegian happens to fly to both. Overall, we're leaning toward the warmer destinations the airline services (hello, Canary Islands), but if you're craving a cooler climate, we see you opting for one of the northern spots, like Helsinki.
