New York may be the city that never sleeps because finding somewhere to lie down, even if just for an hour or two, can be pretty expensive. (We're looking at you $50,000 Four Seasons New York suite.) But for the seventh year, Hotel Week NYC will give visitors (and locals) the chance to stay in hotels that often cost nearly $500 a night for just $100 or $200. Running from January 5 to 15, this offer fills hotel rooms during a post-holiday lull—which is actually an ideal time to visit the city, as long as you can handle the cold. (It's hat-scarf-parka weather in January.) You'll miss the New Year Eve's tourists and get to take advantage of the quieter side of New York, when locals are mostly at home or the gym.

The deal includes some of Traveler's readers' top hotels in New York City, recognized in our 2017 Readers' Choice Awards. The Library Hotel by Library Hotel Collection, just a block from the city's iconic Public Library and renovated Rose Reading Room, is one of the least kitschy theme hotels we've seen, with access to more than 6,000 books, complimentary newspapers, and literary-inspired cocktails. Or, visitors can book a stay at Soho's ModernHaus SoHo, with sweeping views of the West Village; eco-friendly in-room amenities like filtered (not bottled) water, reclaimed wood floors, and waste-reducing, hole-in-the-middle soap bars; and a popular rooftop cocktail bar called Jimmy. You can find information on the other 12 hotels, like the Refinery Hotel and Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC, included in the deal at hotelweeknyc.com. Hint: Hotel Week also makes for a great staycation. Trust us, we've taken full advantage of the low prices and luxurious amenities.

Planning a trip to New York can be a little overwhelming, even after you've finally figured out where to stay, so check out our guide on what to do (and what not to do) when you visit.
